Hey guys,

My wife and I really enjoyed your performance at the cancer benefit this year at the ZEBRA CLUB on D.I.P. You guys are still awesome like you were in 2006 when we first saw you at the Skyview Lounge. We'll see you May 16 at the ALS benefit at Hank Aaron Stadium.-  David & Donna / Mobile, AL

We saw both your shows at the Swamp and the Bluegill.  Your guitarist was singing and playing lead at the same time.  Are you running backing tracks? - Duane / Citronelle, AL

Nope.  Luckily I only have a couple of songs to do that on.  It's a "brain thing".

You guys playing BayFest for real this year or what? - Jason / Gulfport, MS

We honestly were not ready for BF/2005 or 2006.  2007 should be our year hopefully.

Bojangle's has reopened.  Are you playing there again any time soon? - Jennifer/ Mobile, AL

Don't know.  Probably not playing any local clubs in town.  Maybe Grand Central.  We will start playing in February.   (Visit the "Schedule" page.)

What happened to Ed?  I saw his clip and he was awesome, especially for playing on a 5-piece.  Got the T-shirt, but want to get the new one too.  Coming back to ATL anytime? - Robert/ Decatur, GA

Ed took time off to take care of some family / personal things.  He's back with us now.  New T's are put on hold for now.  ATL ???  Yeah- I need to go by Southern Tracks Records and find out why we didn't get picked up by Sony when they purchased S.T. catologues in 2001.

When you guys play live, I hear songs that are not on your cd.  They don't sound like covers that I know.  Steve / B'ham, AL

Just a few songs off our new cd.  It comes out Spring/Summer 2010

You guys were great last night and The Pirate is very grateful.

Thank you all!

I really didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised at the response and I think it was because of Worx!  You guys are always welcome to join us on air and The Pirate will always be glad to play new Worx music.

I'm hopeful this begins a long relationship with a great band.

Once again, thanks for making our first 1st anniversary party a success.

Charlie Ocean, Program Director and The Pirate's favorite cabin boy

What kind of vocal processing do you use?  Because I hear more than 2 people on backup vocals so you have to have some sort of harmonizer going on.

Nope.  What you hear is David and Stevo on backing vocals and the third vocal is me coming back in after singing a lead line.  It helps thicken things up a bit.  We do not use anything other than a DOD delay for vocal "processing".  No harmonizers or pitch correcting machines.  I know that most current "music stars" use pitch correcting machines live, as well as in the studio.  I'd love to be there  when their machine blows a fuse.  These machines allow singers to sing bad, but at least they are not lip-syncing right?  Watch a news anchor person or a politician giving a speech.  When the teleprompter goes out, they don't seem so all together do they?

Worx did'nt play Bayfest again.  Why won't you?  I like seeing the national touring bands, but the local bands don't look like they can sing or play very well.  Mandi - Troy, AL

BayFest and ShrimpFest are not really interested in Worx.  Although Worx is legitimizing itself as a "local" band here in Mobile, bands like Caddle out of B'ham are getting the knod.  It helps when you know a couple of insiders on the Bayfest committee.  It's a very clickish thing down here.   As for Worx performing these events in the future, we are probably going to pass.  Sorry.

Listened to the song clips.  Where is the actual cd available at? - Trisha / Atl., GA

The cd is getting some revamped graphics and will be mass produced just in time for spring.  It will be sold on this web site as well as select music store chains like F.Y.E.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Do you still offer discounted tickets from the website? - Ty / Pensacola, FL

Yes, unless its a show that is not put on soley by our group.

Bill, (Billy's dad) was in a band back in the 1950's with a singer named Walt Benton.  I beleive they had an album on 20th Century Fox.  I think I'm right on this.  I heard the song clips and can't beleive that the same label (then called Scotty Records) would overlook such a talent.  What a legacy to not pick up on.- Ozzy/ Buckhead, GA.

You are correct on all points.  The Scotty lable w/ Bill Lowery produced Walt Benton and The Diplomats.  Scotty is now Southern Tracks Records.  Thanks for the support.
