Worx has always had a good working relationship with local radio.  In the 80's it was WAPI - I-95 in B'ham, AL.  The late Bernie Dittman (owner) gave Worx their first shot on the Mark & Brian Show.

After the bands' migration to Mobile, WAVH 106.5 The Pirate was a key player in the bands' exposure over the last 2 1/2 years.

Before joining Worx, bassist David Lansing played with some heavy hitters in the music business.

Left - Jimi Jamison (Survivor)

Right -  Bobby Kimball (Toto) and

  "Fingers" Taylor (Jimmy Buffett)

..........sweeeeeet.

Just some snapshots of some special times with special people that we get the priveledge to experience.  Worx bassist Marty Boles 2000-2001 with Chuck Levine and Warren Haynes at a gig we did in B'ham.  The rest of the band was not pictured because we were busy loading out.

Back in 1995, I moved back home for a while and was mowing the lawn for my dad.  I stopped for a second and heard the DJ on the radio say he was giving the 10th caller tickets to see the band Cinderella.  Yup, I got the 10th call and went up to the station to pick up the tickets.  When I got there, I ran into a friend from highschool, Will Thomas.  He informed me that the band was actually in the control room doing an on-air interview.  He told me to hang around and would let me meet the band.

I also got to meet the P.R. girl for the band.  She gave me a promotional picture of the band and had the guys in the band sign it.  We all hung out at the station for about 15 minutes just talking about.....well, I can't remember.  But the point is that we had a good time and the show was a blast.  Between songs, the lead singer said, "You know why you don't see us on MTV anymore?  It's because they don't play rock and roll anymore!!!"
